Metaverse Landscapes
Simon Denny’s series of unique lithographs, Metaverse Landscapes, depicts tokens of digital land from the metaverse Decentraland. Denny translates the gridded, geometric aerial views of virtual maps into lithographs with a UV printed pink square highlighting a “property” at its center.
In this layered nexus of ownable objects, the viewer is left to ponder: where, precisely, does “property” in this piece – and in this new digital paradigm more broadly – reside?

The reverse side of each lithograph includes QR codes linked to an NFT made by Denny, which track the depicted parcel and the owner of the print itself. A silkscreened scratch-off square with the password to a crypto wallet holds an “ownership token” for the artwork.
